Xpand! 2 is an Air Music Technology plugin that will be very familiar to Pro Tools users: it is one of the virtual instruments included for years in the popular DAW's complete package - although it could also be obtained separately for some time. Well, Don’t Crack is offering it now for free, in VST and AU format, for a limited time - they have not said how much! - which will save you the almost $ 70 it costs.
We are talking about a multitimbral virtual instrument with four channels, with up to four parts of stereo instruments per patch and 64 voices per part, with mono and poly modes. The interface is based on several "Smart Knobs" that allow you to edit the main sound parameters intuitively, and "Easy Edit Knobs" that control the entire patch.
It includes two digital effects processors and 50 editable effect types, individual arpeggio control for each part and four synthesis engines: subtractive, FM, shooters organ and sample reproduction.
It comes with more than 2,500 presets in 1.2 GB download, covering all these categories of sounds: Soft Pads, Bright Pads, Huge Pads, Action Pads, Ambience and FX, Polysynths, Synth Brass, Percussive, Simple Arpeggios, Multitrack Arpeggios, Soft Leads , Hard Leads, Acoustic Piano, E-Pianos and Clavinet, Organs, Strings, Vocals, Brass and Woodwinds, Mallets, Bells, Guitars, Ethnic, Hits, Synth Basses, Basses, Drums, Percussion, Loops and Multitimbral.
